mother. Pollux is immortal, which is the son of Zeus and Castor is mortal, which is the son of the King of Sparta, Tyndareos. Their mother is Leda, wife of the king. One of the most prominent meteor showers is located here,
radiates from regions around Castor, the Geminids, which peaks around mid December.
